GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC) is honored to announce that Rydell, a longtime supporter to thousands of domestic and sexual violence survivors each year, has received the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations (NDANO)’s Partnership Building Award. The CVIC leadership submitted this award nomination as part of NDANO’s 2026 ND Nonprofit Awards program, which will be showcased June 4 at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in Minot, N.D.
The Partnership Building Award is given to an organization demonstrating community leadership and partnerships within the North Dakota nonprofit sector. Rydell lives out its vision of “To be so effective that we are able to be helpful to others” through meaningful, long-term support for local families and nonprofits in the Upper Red River Valley area.
Through its Angels on Wheels program, the company has donated more than 20 vehicles and invested more than $500,000 to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence, particularly in rural communities where transportation can be a major barrier to safety and services. These efforts, along with partnerships that provide gas cards, car seats and other resources, have expanded access to critical support through organizations like CVIC. Beyond this program, Rydell has also raised more than $1.2 million for area nonprofits through the Annual Rydell Car and Bike Show, demonstrating a deep and sustained commitment to giving back. Its impact goes far beyond donations, helping survivors reach safety, access services and build a path forward for themselves and their families.
“When we think of ideal partnerships that bring together individuals, families and area businesses to create lasting change, Rydell is a shining example. The entire Rydell team is one that truly cares about area neighbors, and their business philosophy and stewardship commitments are perfectly aligned with CVIC’s values and long-term vision to end interpersonal violence,” said Coiya Tompkins Inman, president & CEO of CVIC. “We’re tremendously grateful for Rydell’s year-over-year investments, which not only create freedom and self-sufficiency for area families but also expand our reach to rural communities. Rydell’s gifted vehicle to our agency also enables us to connect with clients where they are in some of their darkest times, fleeing unsafe and dangerous situations in outlying areas that are harder to access. Day or night, we can be there and this additional resource has been a true blessing to our team and those we serve.”
