When you donate to CVIC, your gift is a message of hope. A message that violence is not tolerated in our community.

When Sariah’s* friend of 19 years, John*, was having problems at home and asked her for a place to stay, she didn’t think twice about saying yes. She had no idea her kindness would be met with cruelty.

Because of donors like you, when the unimaginable happened,
Sariah had somewhere to turn.

After John’s brutal attack, we were able to stay by Sariah’s side every step of the way. Because of your generous support — especially during this season of unreliable funding — Sariah reached someone who could help.

John slit Sariah’s tires in the middle of winter, and she didn’t have the money to fix them.

“I’m a single mom and doing my finances by myself. We didn’t have a car. It took me a month to be able to put those tires back on my car. If we wanted to eat, I had to walk in the snow to Walmart.

We really struggled.

It was the worst Christmas ever that year.

Because of your partnership, CVIC connected Sariah with resources and support groups that helped her process her trauma and rebuild her life.

“I could never have gotten through it and moved on with my life without CVIC. I’m working a full-time job. I’m in a safer place, emotionally and mentally and physically. It would have never happened without CVIC.”

And it would never have happened without you.
