A Ticket to Freedom. A Life Reclaimed.
Your gift today will be matched—doubling your impact to help survivors like Carrie escape abuse and rebuild their lives.
Carrie’s story is one of strength—and survival.
For more than 10 years, her partner controlled every part of her life. She had no car. No nearby family. A physical disability made it difficult to leave. He isolated her from the world, and she depended on him for everything—even while he continued to harm her.
When she found CVIC, we welcomed her into shelter and safety. But the journey wasn’t over. With support from an advocate, Carrie built trust, found her voice, and made a plan.
All she needed was a bus ticket—and the courage to start over.
Thanks to donors like you and CVIC’s Pete & Mel Hoistad Client Emergency Fund, we were able to cover her $250 bus fare and baggage fees. Carrie packed her life into three suitcases, boarded that bus, and stepped into freedom.
Right now, every dollar you give will be matched—up to $10,000—thanks to the generosity of Citizen Assistance Programs.
That means your $50 becomes $100.
Your $150 becomes $300.
Twice the support. Twice the impact.
