The holiday season is a time for joy, but for many families supported by CVIC, it can be especially challenging. Through our Adopt a Family program, we aim to brighten this season by connecting donors like you with individuals and families who need a little extra cheer.

When you adopt a family, you’re helping to bring hope and happiness to individuals impacted by interpersonal violence. This holiday season, we’re especially focused on providing safety, healing, and relief to families navigating difficult circumstances like economic strain, housing challenges, and increased stress at home.

Here’s how it works:

  • Select a Family: We will match you anonymously with a family or individual at CVIC and share a wish list to guide your giving.
  • Gift Cards & Supplies: Our families most appreciate gift cards so they can choose special gifts for their loved ones. Many donors also include wrapping paper and tape to make the season extra festive.
  • Drop Off: Enjoy some holiday treats when you drop off unwrapped gift cards, gifts, and wrapping supplies at our downtown office, 211 S. 4th St., Grand Forks. Drop-off times are listed below, and we kindly ask all gifts be received by Saturday, Dec. 13.

Drop-off times:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 10 | 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 11 | 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 12 | 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 13 | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If these times don’t work, please feel free to call our office at 701-746-0405 to arrange an alternative drop off time.

Thank you so much for making the holidays brighter for our community!

In the event we receive more sign-ups than families in the program, any additional gift cards will be directed toward general client needs throughout the year, helping provide safety, stability and comfort whenever it’s needed most.
