The Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC) has appointed Becky Mindeman, senior vice president of retail banking with Gate City Bank, Jodi Sorum, director of oncology, clinical services and hospitalist program at Altru Health System, and Kristen Price, vice president of McFarlane Mechanical Contractors, and Yvonne Griffin, owner of Yahweh Cleaning Services, LLC, to its 2020-2021 board of directors.
Pete Hoistad, retired certified public accountant, will serve as chairperson for the 2020-21 term, with Jody Hodgson, general manager of Ralph Engelstad Arena, serving as chairperson-elect. Will Kusler, location manager, Markit County Grain LLC, serves as board secretary.

Becky, Jodi, Yvonne and Kristen join CVIC as we begin a new chapter in our 40-year history, accelerating our innovative approach to end violence in two generations,” said President/CEO Coiya Tompkins.
Also providing leadership to the organization as board members are: Catherine Gillach, assistant superintendent of secondary education, Grand Forks Public Schools; Eric Plummer, associate vice president and chief of police, University of North Dakota; Mac Schneider, attorney, Schneider Law Firm; and Kyle Thorson, owner, Archives Coffee House.
With a bold mission to end violence in two generations, CVIC delivers vital safety and healing services to adults and children experiencing trauma and educates youth and professionals about how to prevent violence and develop healthy relationships. CVIC provides services to nearly 3,000 children and adults annually. Its prevention efforts reach more than 15,000 youth and adults throughout the region every year.
