Friends, your morning coffee just got a little more meaningful!
CVIC has been selected as the featured nonprofit at The Ember Coffeehouse. Whether you’re stopping in for your morning coffee, meeting a friend for an afternoon break, or treating yourself to a favorite drink, your visit can help create safer tomorrows in our community.
Throughout June and July, all customer tips will be donated to CVIC in support of our Meet the Moment campaign, which aims to raise $500,000 by July 31.
For the past 18 months, CVIC has navigated significant federal, state, and private funding challenges. Without community support to help close this funding gap, critical services are at risk:
- 725 survivors may not have a helping hand during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
- 552 nights of shelter could be lost, leaving individuals and families without a safe place to stay.
- 339 therapy sessions may not happen, delaying healing for youth and adults.
- 4,274 youth and professionals could miss opportunities to learn about healthy relationships, consent, and violence prevention.
Community fundraisers like this one are essential to protecting these services and ensuring they remain available when they’re needed most.
“We are so grateful to The Ember for selecting CVIC for this fun and meaningful community fundraiser,” said Coiya Tompkins Inman, president/CEO, whose favorite Ember drink, the Iced Caramel Latte is the featured drink this month at the downtown coffee shop. “Every small act of kindness helps create a world of change—for the mother bringing her children to shelter for the first time, for the parents navigating supervised visitation, and for the person working to break unhealthy cycles and build healthier ways to resolve conflict. Together, those acts of kindness create safer tomorrows for all of us.”
The coffeehouse is located at 8 N. 3rd St. in downtown Grand Forks. Thank you to our friends at The Ember and its customers for helping Meet the Moment and invest in safer tomorrows—one cup at a time.
