The Need
In order to effectively serve individuals who have been abused, it is critical that our response involve proactive violence prevention services that address the source of the problem – batterers' abuse of power and control over their partners. Prevention programs aimed at stopping batterers' violence are an integral component in a holistic approach to violence, provided they are part of a graduated range of sanctions used by the criminal justice system to hold offenders accountable for their crimes and change their behavior.
People Served
The New Choices Program serves adults who have been physically, sexually and emotionally abusive to an intimate partner.
2008 Program Statistics
