"I wish each of you could spend a day at CVIC and see the immense, pain, terror and hardship faced by our clients.  I wish you could see the hopelessness on the faces of the women who have lived with violence for so long they know no other way.  I wish you could see the heartbroken children who come in, children who have lived in absolute terror every day of their young lives.  And I wish you could see the transformation that happens when individuals realize that there is a way out.  I wish you could see all of this.  I wish this simply because I wish you the joy of experiencing what it truly means to be a part of changing someone's life.
