We at CVIC truly believe that we can build a violence-free community by working together for justice, peace and the elimination of oppression, by upholding human dignity and by simply believing that it is possible to change the world – one person, one community at a time. One of the most fundamental callings we have is to help people restore the belief in their value as human beings. This runs as a common thread through all of our programs and inspires us as we work individually and collectively to give voice to the voiceless and involve the community in our efforts to end violence.
Since our inception in 1980, we have continually built upon the remarkable contributions of board, staff, clients and community members, growing into a progressive organization that holds fast to the vision of peace and offers a comprehensive approach to promote nonviolence. Guided by dynamic leadership and supported by a dedicated staff, CVIC maintains high ethical and professional standards both in providing services and managing its resources. |
